Clauchrie Cottage, is nestled amidst the idyllic countryside of Wigtown, in Dumfries and Galloway. Its positioned on a private road. It is family-friendly, pet-friendly and is also ideal for groups to enjoy reunions and special times together with its games rooms and scenic views in its private garden and fire-pit. Biking trips, walking holidays, fishing trips all welcome. This is the perfect affordable getaway. Wigtown is known for its famous bookstores and book festival. Book direct for best deal. Please note we charge £20 per dog per stay, (Max 3 dogs unless discussed otherwise). We offer optional use of the outside spa area: Large hot tubs and sauna for an additional £100 for short stays and £150pw. Guests must confirm if wanting this booked prior to arrival.

On entry to the cottage there is access to a garage and a porch. As you enter the house you are greeted by a spacious lounge area which offers ample seating, ideal for cozy evenings spent in conversation or indulging in board games.The heart of the cottage lies in its expansive games room, perfect for hosting gatherings of friends and families alike. The lower level also offers a guest bedroom with a king-sized bed and a shower room off the hall. The sage kitchen is perfect to make those special celebratory meals and meet all culinary needs. The living room offers plenty of seating with one of the couches turning into a sofa bed for an additional bed. The upper level has 4 bedrooms consisting of the master bedroom with one king-sized bed, a bedroom for 2 with single bunks, a spacious room with 2 singles and a smaller room with 1 single. The main bathroom is also on the upper floor.

overall, a wonderful new year stay from start to finish. This is a beautiful, spacious home with all the amenities you would need, had things to keep the kids entertained such as games, ping pong table and of course the hot tub. has a pool table and Darts board for the men and the outdoor hot tub and sauna was lovely. The house was clean when we arrived, with everything set up ready to go. Callum was always responsive with messages and very helpful and welcoming. will definitely stay again.

We stayed here this Christmas with my wife, 3 children and my in-laws and what a lovely find this really was. There was plenty of space for us as there were 11 of us all together with 3 dogs too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nothing was too much trouble from the owners, having speaking to them through here if there was any questions we needed to ask such as what cooking materials there was including cutlery etc. We also asked if there would be any decorations up whilst we were there to make it a nice touch and there certainly was. The house was so homely and warm and very comfortable. We paid extra for the fireplaces as there is a fire pit there so you can toast marshmallows which was just lovely. We also paid extra for the hot tub and sauna and these were definitely worth it, sitting in the hot tub on christmas day will be one to remember! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like to be somewhere peaceful but make your own entertainment! Will be back!

10 of us stayed over a long weekend and we all had a fantastic time! The house looks like the photos and the hosts instructions on how to find it were very clear. Beautiful area, was really nice waking up to birds singing and cows mooing! The house is close to lots of walks which was what we spent most of the time doing! It was very affordable too, I would recommend this place :)
